IoT Evolution Expo Provides high-level overview of Industry with Certification Series

January event offers one day internet of things certification in Fort Lauderdale

Norwalk, CT—December 1, 2015—TMC and Crossfire Media announced today the IoT Certification Series  at IoT Evolution Expo, held January 25 -28, 2016, at the Greater Ft. Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. IoT Evolution Expo is directed at companies interested in understanding how to develop, integrate and deploy Internet of Things (IoT) strategies.  The IoT Certification Series will take place Monday, January 25th from 10:00am - 3:00pm.

The IoT Certification Series is designed to provide a high-level overview of the technologies contending in the IoT+M2M space, and their applicability to consumer and business/industrial markets. Technologies discussed will span IoT devices and sensors, IoT sensor networks and gateways, and both small and large-scale M2M networking capabilities. A review of industry roles will cover industrial implementations, technical and application consortiums, services provider models, and Consumer DIY trends.

This tutorial program includes:

  • 10:00AM – Session 1: IoT+M2M Introduction- The first of four sessions will focus on the Promise, the Opportunity... and the Challenges in deploying a fully realized IoT.
  • 11:00AM Session 2: IoT+M2M Terminology and Concepts In this session, Key industry terms will be defined and their usage described, including the distinction between, and co-dependence of the IoT and M2M communications.
  • 1:00PM – Session 3: IoT at the Edge - Sensor Network Topologies - The myriad of IoT edge technologies leads to an overview of the current landscape in Sensor Networking Topologies. This includes mobile and wireless instances such as 3G/4G, 5G and Mesh, as well as the 2extensive list of networking capabilities coming from industry:  Allseen, Apple, Google, IIC, OIC, ZigBee… and others.
  • 2:00PM – Session 4: Putting it together: M2M platforms and IoT + M2M Applications- The need to tie together the IoT through M2M platforms and service layers in explored, and the session series concludes with an examination of a number of deployed real-world IoT + M2M application examples.
