RedMane Technology Lends a Hand to Virginia Child Welfare Initiative

By

RedMane Technology is a Chicago-based software solutions and systems integration services company. The company was awarded a contract to provide and implement its mCase platform for the Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS). This department of social services in Virginia has a Comprehensive Permanency Assessment and Safety System (COMPASS) program.

The technology organization’s work is in support of the Commonwealth’s Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS) Enterprise Mobile Software Solution project. This project is the first component in the COMPASS program. The program follows Virginia Governor Ralph Northam’s executive order, which directs the use of cloud technologies in the Commonwealth’s information technology services.

“Virginia is committed to improving the lives of the families and children we serve through our child welfare programs,” said Carl E. Ayers, director, the Division of Family Services, VDSS. “Equipping our workforce with industry leading tools is a major step in fulfilling that mission. Through our partnership with RedMane, the Commonwealth will take advantage of technological improvements that ensure staff have the needed information at their fingertips when working with those in need.”

RedMane Technology’s cloud-based platform is designed to enable child welfare caseworkers to access data when they need it, either when they are in the office or the field. With mCase platform, caseworkers can put more focus on the needs and positive outcomes of their clients. Caseworkers will be able to meet with a family, assess the situation utilizing existing assessment tools, develop an appropriate plan, and have it agreed upon, printed, and signed in a single visit.

“We will implement mCase and be responsible for all the systems integration work associated with this critical project,” said Tony Lakier, president, RedMane.  “Our professional services staff will work closely with VDSS to tailor the solution to Virginia’s needs, integrate it into the existing environment, and roll it out throughout the Commonwealth.”

The company’s mCase platform will assist the state of Virginia to protect and serve its children and families. “Assisting organizations with problem-solving and helping people as a result is what RedMane is all about,” said Lakier. “In fact, other jurisdictions such as Milwaukee County, Wisconsin; the province of Alberta, Canada and the U.S. Virgin Islands are using our mCase platform in aiding and assisting their residents for everything from eligibility and benefits processing to child welfare and ongoing case management.”
