ICYMI: Your 'IoT TGIF' News Review

By

IoT and AI are two of today’s top digital trends – no ifs, ands or buts about it – and technology researchers and business leaders everywhere have recognized this. According to one PricewaterhouseCoopers report, the Internet of Things “is transforming the everyday physical objects that surround us into an ecosystem of interconnected information that will enrich our lives. From refrigerators to parking spaces to houses, IoT is bringing more and more things into the digital fold every single day, which will likely make the Internet of Things a multi-trillion dollar industry in the near future.”

In that last vein – an industry on course to breach trillions – this report is definitely on the right track. In fact, today’s first “ICYMI” (In Case You Missed It) IoT recap involves precisely that, followed by a smattering of other IoT-centric stories we think you’ll like:

  • Stocklytics writer Jastra Kranjec (in addition to data from Statista Market Insights) reported that the global IoT market is expected to see another year of double-digit growth, leading to a rise in revenue of 18% to 1.38 trillion by later this year. The data is intriguing; read our coverage in full here.
  • In Industrial IoT News, an IIoT partnership with great potential was struck between the software, edge management and orchestration experts at Avassa and the hardware-and-industrial-manufacturing-device-focused team at OnLogic. This is big; transformations across IIoT point to “clear movement towards the intelligent edge,” as the Avassa-OnLogic announcement describes, “with fully containerized applications making the management of cloud-connected IIoT applications easier.”
  • Back in late Q1, X3 Holdings (a global provider of digital technologies with an eye for sustainable solutions) announced the IoT debut of its AI and digital twins-based air cargo management and operations platform. This will streamline tasks for airport management functions, real-time cargo monitoring, custom logistics tracking and much more. Stewart Lor, X3 Holdings CEO, said that this move “is about more than keeping pace with rapid digital advancements; it represents a significant leap toward our goal of revolutionizing how the world engages in trade.”
  • TAILYN is a company that serves global customers with EMS, ODM, and JDM business solutions; 5G technology, industrial applications, telecommunications services, telematics, precision equipment and more, providing comprehensivity to design, test engineering, pilot and mass production operational phases. And we’ve now seen TAILYN unveil its Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) solution that integrates with cutting-edge AI to optimize network traffic management, predictive maintenance, and anomaly detection for seamless IIoT processes.
  • Last on today’s wrap-up, One Stop Systems, Inc. (OSS) recently linked up with American motorsports organization Andretti Global and shipped the org its first AI Transportable compute system designed for the motorsport industry. This OSS SDS-3U GPU-accelerated server powers advanced AI race analytics for Andretti Global using Zapata AI’s GenAI platform for both cloud and edge needs. This is OSS’s first dive into the massive, $5.1 billion motorsport industry, and already they know how high-performance race cars generate more than 1,0000 gigabytes of data with every race. Andretti Global will now be able to make much smarter use of this data, courtesy of OSS and Zapata AI.
