Orange Switzerland and Device Cloud Networks Ink Partnership for Global M2M Solutions

By Ashok Bindra February 22, 2013

Eyeing rapidly growing machine-to-machine (M2M) connectivity in Europe with products ranging from consumer electronics, connected automotive, security, asset monitoring, smart metering and many others, Device Cloud Networks (DCN) is launching its M2M platform in Switzerland using Orange Switzerland’s network. According to DCN, its M2M platform has a next-generation set of capabilities that combines service provisioning and device management with application enablement tools to simplify the process of bringing wireless connectivity to products of any type.

With this launch, Swiss companies will be able to use the M2M platform to connect their products via a global mobile network and improve their processes and service to clients, said DCN.

The developer said that through the platform’s combined functionalities, connectivity can be designed into a product or service and embedded at the point of manufacture to create a single product stock keeping unit (SKU) along with the required value-added services and Web-based management for global deployment. The company believes that the reduced complexity, simplified logistics, and highly flexible business processes make the DCN platform an ideal choice for Swiss customers.

In a statement, Markus Bütler, vice president Enterprise & Wholesale at Orange Switzerland, said, “We are excited that DCN has chosen Orange as its exclusive mobile network partner for Switzerland.” He added, “DCN’s customers will benefit greatly from our excellent network, which constitutes the ideal basis for an efficient M2M service.”

In another statement, Roger Dewey, COO at DCN, commented, “We are proud to work alongside Orange to serve our M2M customers in Switzerland and Europe. Orange is the perfect addition to the growing group of operator partners working together with DCN to provide global service for M2M.”
