OpenFog Consortium Announces Compendium of Perspectives on Fog Computing

The OpenFog Consortium recently announced the availability of a compendium of new perspectives on fog computing featuring articles and use cases contributed by OpenFog members and leading network and technology companies. Titled “Bridging the Cloud-to-Things Continuum,” the collection of perspectives on fog computing is published by Tech Idea Research.

The collection can be accessed here.

Many of the contributions are from some of the earliest advocates and adopters of fog computing – those who are leading the research, developing the technologies and working with end users to incorporate fog computing in real-world deployments.

Contributed article topics include:

  • Decentralized and adaptive security for the new industrial edge
  • Fog computing creates a new range of possibilities in manufacturing
  • BATS: an enabling communication technology for IoT, fog computing, and beyond
  • Fog computing: bringing SDN to IIoT  
  • Getting local: three early lessons for implementing fog computing
