ZEDEDA Certified Edge Computing Associate Certification to Support Growing Uses of Edge Computing

By Alex Passett September 06, 2023

Roughly a month ago, ZEDEDA – a big name in management and orchestration for the distributed edge – introduced its new ZEDEDA Edge Application Services; I covered this news here. The long-story-short of it is that the ZEDEDA Edge Application Services suite enables customers to manage, configure, and control edge applications simply by leveraging existing ZEDEDA ecosystem resources. Making things easier and equipping customers with more granular control across all their edge applications (i.e. including AI-powered ones) is obviously a step in the right direction.

Now, ZEDEDA is taking another future-forward step:

As part of its mission to make edge computing effortless, open and intrinsically secure, ZEDEDA has announced a new certification to support companies even more as they expand edge computing across use cases.

Here are the details:

The ZEDEDA Certified Edge Computing Associate (ZCEA) certification is now available to anyone interested in learning more about the fundamentals of the edge computing industry. The course is free and vendor-agnostic, and the certificate itself can be shared on resumes, online profiles and job boards. Increasing accessibility is a win, since many edge computing deployments are continually finding their way into businesses today. One Gartner report – “What Edge Computing Means for Infrastructure and Operations Leaders” – recently stated that “the amount of enterprise-generated data created and processed outside a traditional centralized data center or cloud is expected to grow from about 10% currently to 75% in 2025.”

Thus, certifications like this new one from ZEDEDA will prove beneficial.

Per Kevin Freitas, Senior Director at ZEDEDA’s Edge Academy:

“As a leader in this space, ZEDEDA is well-positioned to educate people on the value, challenges, and key industries that can benefit from ZCEA certifications. We’re excited to launch this new certification to share essential knowledge about edge computing, as this aligns perfectly with our commitment to being leaders in Edge Management and Orchestration markets.”
