Stream Sponsors Vietnam IoT Startup Competition

By

Stream Technologies is sponsoring Vietnam’s annual IoT Startup competition, the company has announced. Organized by the Board of Management of Saigon Hi-Tech Park, the competition’s goals are to attract the interest of the startup community and foster the development of IoT-based products, and to incubate and establish new IoT startups.

The competition was launched March 25. With more than 400 participants from all over Vietnam competing for a top prize of 50,000,000 VND, or $2,195.50, the event will see nearly 100 IoT projects being developed in many fields ranging from wearable devices, smart cities, security, health, energy, farming and retail applications.

Part of the sponsorship support being offered by Stream includes the use of the company’s IoT-X platform. IoT-X is being made available for all IoT Startup participants to manage connected devices for the duration of the event. Stream will also be providing access to one of its partner’s solutions: myDevices’ Cayenne, which is a drag and drop IoT project builder. Cayenne is designed to enable developers to quickly design and prototype IoT solutions.

Stream’s CEO, Nigel Chadwick, was invited to deliver a presentation on global IoT trends at the competition’s launch event in Ho Chi Minh City. Stream’s sponsorship of the competition demonstrates the company’s continued commitment to supporting projects that foster the development of innovation within the IoT industry.

IoT-X is Stream’s Connectivity Management Platform (CMP). IoT-X is designed to be used to manage cellular, satellite and LPWAN (Low-Power Wide Area Network), including LoRa connectivity. It is integrated with Oberthur’s M-Connect eUICC platform and Stream’s LoRaWAN network server and LoRa subscription management capabilities.

Although the prize itself is not large, this kind of competition is valuable for the participating companies because it serves to raise their profiles to key market decision-makers. And it’s not terrible to call your solution “award-winning” either.
