It's Time to talk about the Software Defined IoT at IoT Evolution Expo 2020

By

IoT Evolution Expo 2020 is happening right now, and we interviewed several of our speakers to get a bit of a preview of what to expect from their sessions.

Here, we interviewed speaker Nick Jordan, CEO of Smashing Boxes, who will be defining and justifying the SD-IoT in the Wednesday afternoon panel SD-IoT: Software Solutions for the IIoT, at IoT Evolution Expo 2020, which is taking place February 11 to 14 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

To attend this session, click here to register.

Here is a little preview of his thoughts:

IoT Evolution: What are some key ideas you plan to cover in this session?

Nick Jordan: System Design, Human Centered Design, Business Value Creation

IoTE: What insights do you hope attendees will take home?

NJ: To get an IOT project off the ground - First Understand the Human Centered Value Prop to see if a solution is needed, then Business Value Prop to see if it is fundable, then spec the project to see if it is feasible.

IoTE: Can you identify a few important trends influencing your sector of the IoT which will shape the path of the industry? Why these?

NJ: Glue apps and easing the burden on corporate IT to implement multiple devices in an IOT ecosystem.

IoTE: What are the biggest challenges facing the IoT right now? What are some strategies you recommend to overcome those challenges?

NJ: Security - when there are many vendors, e.g. in healthcare, it stifles all solutions.

IoTE: Which vertical markets have the most to gain from IoT implementation?

NJ: Healthcare for sure, then agriculture tech
