iSIM Collaboration Fuels Accelerated IoT Deployment

By

Revolution, evolution and everything in between is the IoT. Change is happening on a global scale, and as the dust settles, a connected reality emerges. The IoT is transforming the world as we know it, propelled by partnerships. It takes a village.

Truphone announced a collaboration with Sony Semiconductor Israel Ltd. (Sony) and Kigen to enable mass IoT deployments.

Specifically speaking, Truphone’s IoT platform and global connectivity can run on the integrated SIM of Sony’s Altair cellular IoT chipsets, supported by Kigen iSIM OS software.

Ralph Steffens, CEO at Truphone said: “This collaboration demonstrates Truphone’s strength and leadership in enabling connectivity for IoT. This merging of technologies will create powerful, scalable IoT deployments. We’re thrilled to be joining Sony and Kigen in bringing seamless connectivity to a breadth of industries—from vehicles to wearables and everything in-between.”

For Truphone, this allows the ability to provide global out-of-the-box connectivity to Sony’s Altair CAT-M/NB ALT1250 and NB-only ALT1255, and the acceleration of large-scale IoT deployments. With the iSIM OS in place, not only are cost and complexity greatly reduced, but the enterprise can take advantage of a pre-integrated, secure connectivity solution.

Vincent Korstanje, CEO at Kigen said: “Enabling a new model of partnerships for simpler and wider adoption of secure, cellular IoT has been a driver for Kigen that led the vision for the iSIM. This collaboration with Truphone and Sony will simplify and accelerate the journey for OEMs and enterprises for new battery-efficient devices with straightforward, global out-of-the-box connectivity.”

What’s your next IoT deployment?
