NTT Announces Comprehensive IoT Services for Sustainability Solution

By

NTT has rolled out its new IoT Services for Sustainability solution. The offering is a stack of end-to-end solutions designed to help organizations meet global sustainability initiatives as well as make data-driven decisions to reduce their carbon footprint.

The new offering from NTT uses IoT connectivity to aid businesses in achieving their long-term sustainability goals. The stack of offerings utilizes a secure IT/OT integration as well as end-to-end support to help businesses quickly realize the benefits of technology deployment across the entire organization.

Key benefits of the solution include cost savings, better work enablement across an entire organization, faster reduction in emissions and advanced operational excellence. The offerings are supported by NTT's new LoRaWAN network along with its catalog of sensors for measuring, managing and collecting data in order to drive sustainability objectives.

"Almost two-thirds of CEOs say they’re aligning business strategies to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, said Devin Yaung, SVP of group enterprise IoT products and services at NTT. "Yet only two out of five businesses have the solutions needed to meet the organization's immediate objectives. Therefore, it is more critical than ever to prioritize and deliver sustainability solutions for our enterprise customers."

The stack of solutions includes OCR Meter Reading via an optical-based meter reader. The offering provides close to real-time data from any type of meter, including water, electricity and gas. The meter may be used to read a variety of gauges, including pressure and temperature.

The Water Leak Management technology offers real-time, IoT-enabled protection against water damage for smart spaces projects. Environmental Monitoring technology uses sensors to pinpoint when pollutants are present in the air and water and also tracks temperature and humidity. Predictive Maintenance technology collects data from sensors and creates models to predict when events of interest happen. These may include accidents, potential downtime or the need to replace a technology component.

"Our new stack of solutions will help organizations reach their sustainability goals and improve operations across their business, whether it is reducing waste from manufacturing defects or understanding the carbon footprint of their supply chain," said Yaung. "The use of IoT will empower businesses to make decisions in real-time, streamlining processes and transforming the overall sustainability of their business. We’re proud to be announcing this offering at such a critical time, and we look forward to driving change alongside our clients to create a more sustainable future."
