Schneider Electric Integrates Microsoft Azure OpenAI for Sustainable Solutions

By

Generative AI automates content generation for marketing, personalizes customer interactions and streamlines decision-making processes, making it a game-changer for the business world. Businesses can also make the most out of the efficiency gains of automating repetitive tasks (such as data entry and customer support) while also tapping into the natural language understanding capabilities for more effective communication.

Another main boost from generative AI is that it allows for custom solutions tailored to specific business needs, ensuring companies stay agile and responsive in dynamic markets.

Schneider Electric launched its AI hub organization in 2021, before generative AI technology became as prevalent as it is today. The company created a dedicated generative AI core team to work closely with internal and external stakeholders to detect early application opportunities.

Because of that, Schneider Electric is now harnessing the capabilities of generative AI to empower customers and transform its internal operations. Schneider Electric tapped into its collaboration with Microsoft to integrate Microsoft Azure OpenAI into its operations, utilizing algorithms to generate text, code and diverse content.

Schneider Electric's embrace of generative AI, integrated with Microsoft Azure OpenAI, affirms their dedication to leading technological innovation in energy management and industrial automation. Both companies prioritize using advanced technologies to enhance efficiency, spur innovation and foster sustainable growth.

Key applications of generative AI at Schneider Electric include the Resource Advisor Copilot, a digital companion embedded in Resource Advisor. Powered by LLM technology through Microsoft Azure OpenAI, it provides customers with advanced data analysis, visualization, decision support and performance optimization to securely process intricate industry knowledge and Resource Advisor system information.

Internally, Jo-Chat GPT, based on Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, serves as a secure conversational assistant for employees, facilitating efficient communication.

Additionally, conversational assistants like Finance Advisor and Knowledge Bot play crucial roles. Finance Advisor aids financial analysts in accounting and global finance functions to provide consistent, compliant and timely decision-making. The Knowledge Bot assists customer care representatives in retrieving accurate information from extensive internal documentation.

"Generative AI is a game-changer, and we are investing in this technology,” said Philippe Rambach, Chief AI Officer at Schneider Electric. “It has already allowed us to enhance internal productivity, and it aligns perfectly with our commitment to continuous improvement and impactful innovation focused on sustainability."

Schneider Electric, with its portfolio of solutions built on Microsoft Azure, offers customers next-generation cloud-based IoT solutions and advanced data and AI capabilities. The two companies continue to help customers bridge the gap between setting ambitious sustainability goals and achieving them.
