Expanding IoT Solutions: OptConnect Acquires M2M DataGlobal

By

Folks, it’s nearly time. As of this article’s publication, we’re less than six days away from IoT Evolution Expo 2024 at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. February 13-15 will be chock-full of conference sessions, networking opportunities, and plenty of time to walk through the show’s robust exhibit hall. Learn more about the overarching ITEXPO #TECHSUPERSHOW experience here.

Ahead of this massive showcase of innovations, we have additional innovation-centric news to cover regarding two specific IoT innovators – OptConnect and M2M DataGlobal. The former, a provider of Connectivity-as-a-Service ultra-reliable solutions that are simple to get started with and easy to use as you go. The latter, a Latin American provider of strong M2M connectivity for businesses’ IoT devices, as well as a wide range of data plans, private APN, sensors, telematics and much more.

Earlier this week, OptConnect proudly announced its acquisition of M2M DataGlobal with the goal of creating a new “premier managed wireless connectivity platform of scale, capable of supporting customers across a broad spectrum of industries throughout North and South America,” according to the official announcement.

With OptConnect ability to serve North American partners in one hand (so to speak) and M2M DataGlobal’s experience in Latin America (i.e. headquartered in Santiago, Chile with services in Argentina, Peru, Ecuador Columbia and Mexico), this strategic acquisition marks a major expansion in OptConnect’s global reach and a dramatic increase in its capabilities of supporting far-ranging partnerships (and more than 10,000 unique customers, to boot).

Per Chris Baird, CEO of OptConnect:

“We are continuing to evolve as a company to meet and exceed the needs of our customers as they expand across the world. Our unwavering commitment lies in being an innovative global provider of highly valued wireless connectivity solutions. This acquisition enables us to continue to deliver on our promise to support customers and ensure they derive the maximum benefits from their IoT initiatives.”

And per Elionae Silva, General Manager of M2M:

“Since our inception, we have been uniquely focused on our customers and providing specialized support for their needs as we constantly innovate. This opportunity with OptConnect will allow us as an organization to continue to be the IoT solution of the future as we continue to grow and scale.”
