Velos IoT Group Appoints Colin Chew as its New CEO

By

Let’s talk about Velos IoT Group and the promise it makes for “sustainable, secure and scalable IoT connectivity, managed for wherever you are on your journey.”

Formerly JT IoT, Velos is a global integrated connectivity provider with extensive experience in delivering IoT services via proprietary core and roaming agreements. Velos’ expert team enables devices to be connected to more than 600 networks (in 200 countries and territories, and counting); particularly through its Velos IoT SIM (plus the Nomad connectivity management platform). Be it in transportation and logistics, for fixed systems and infrastructure, in healthcare fields and elsewhere, Velos makes IoT happen with secured data and reliable connections.

The long-story-short of it? Velos has shipped more than 17 million SIMs worldwide and continues to offer flexible solutions to organizations of all sizes.

And this week, Velos made an announcement. The company has a new CEO, succeeding Graeme Millar:

Colin Chew.

Chew, according to Velos, is stepping into this role “during a period marked by significant milestones under Graeme's leadership, including the carve-out from JT and the acquisitions of TopConnect and NextM2M.”

Phil Male, Chair of Velos, made several comments on this leadership transition.

“The Board acknowledges Graeme’s contributions during his tenure as CEO and wishes him every success in the future,” Male stated. “As we move towards this new leadership, we anticipate maintaining our momentum and further building on the strong foundation established in recent years.”

“Velos is also well-positioned to make even further strides in IoT with Colin Chew as its new CEO, and we are thrilled to welcome him,” Male added. “With over 20 years of experience in the IoT sector, and a notable reputation as an IoT authority, Colin brings a wealth of knowledge spanning sales, marketing, product management, and R&D. Colin’s distinguished career at Semtech, Sierra Wireless, IBM, and Lucent Technologies uniquely equips him for this role. His expertise and visionary leadership are key to advancing Velos as a trailblazer in the IoT market. Under his guidance, we are poised to innovate further and set new benchmarks with our cutting-edge IoT technology.”

Colin Chew

Chew shared his official vision as the new Velos CEO, saying the following:

“I am delighted to join Velos, a company that has established itself as a global force in IoT connectivity. As we look ahead, I eagerly anticipate not only building on Velos' high standard of service, but also unveiling exciting new developments. We are focusing on a number of trailblazing innovations that will significantly enhance our offering in IoT connectivity.”
