Expanding IoT Leadership: emnify Appoints Tech Veteran Lynda Smith its Board of Directors

By

We’re two days out from the kick-off of IoT Evolution Expo, readers! From February 13-15 at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this expo (part of the overarching ITEXPO #TECHSUPERSHOW experience) combines a ton of educational conference programming with a truly robust exhibit hall — not to mention networking events, expert panel discussions, and plenty of other activities that will bring together IoT enthusiasts with official buyers and providers of myriad business technology products and services. Learn more about all that’ll be going on (and consider registering) here.

Ahead of the show, we’ve got news to talk about regarding a company I’ve covered here on IoT Evolution World before:

emnify.

emnify is a global cellular connectivity solutions provider with a “One eSIM, One Platform, One IoT SuperNetwork” mentality. This past summer, our emnify coverage included their IoT eSIM platform that leverages previously unavailable SIM capabilities, as well as the expansion of its cloud-native IoT connectivity to Brazil via its partnership with Claro Brasil. emnify’s IoT-specific network access solutions address demands in markets like these, and since then it has continued to innovate.

So, back to the latest news: emnify rounded out this past January with the welcoming of technology executive Lynda Smith to its Board of Directors.

This is definitely a strategic appointment, and a smart one. As a former Chief Marketing Officer at Twilio, Smith oversaw the scaling of the company’s annual recurring revenue from $20 million to more than $100 million and expanded one of its teams from 18 to 50+ members, successfully balancing direct-to-developer and enterprise B2B strategies along the way.

According to the official announcement, “this appointment signals emnify’s continued commitment to excellence and innovation.” (Smith’s career also notably includes leadership roles at Nuance, Fictiv and Clickatell, in addition to her previous academic role as an adjunct lecturer at Stanford University.)

Per Frank Stoecker, emnify co-founder and CEO:

“Lynda brings a wealth of experience that is highly relevant to emnify’s next phase of growth. Her perspective will be invaluable as we continue to advance our global IoT SuperNetwork, which is purpose-built for a wide variety of IoT applications, offering unrivaled cloud-native connectivity. This is about strengthening our leadership in a market that rightfully demands innovation, and with Lynda on our board, we’re set to raise the bar even higher.”

Smith herself said that she’s “looking forward to seeing how emnify will continue to transform the IoT landscape. The company’s drive and ambitious vision for the future is what excites me most.”
