To Accelerate IoT Growth Strategies, Digi International Adds Tony Puopolo to its Leadership Roster

By

Late last month, fellow TMC editor Greg Tavarez penned an article on our Cloud Computing sister site regarding Cradlepoint. Part of Ericsson, Cradlepoint offers private cellular solutions via routers, adapters and its centralized Cradlepoint NetCloud management system to ensure connectivity for work sites, vehicles, remote workers and other corners of the IoT world. I remember editing and publishing Tavarez’s work, and that memory flashed back this morning when I read more news regarding both Cradlepoint and an wireless IoT solutions provider I’ve written about plenty here on IoT Evolution:

Digi International.

Since 1985, Digi has had a ton to offer IoT and other connectivity-imperative ecosystems, including M2M devices, the optimization of data communications, RF modems, gateways, cellular routers, networking devices, embedded technologies and much more. (Read our latest Digi article here.)

But, I digress; here’s the news at hand:

This week, Digi officially announced the appointment of Tony Puopolo as Senior Vice President, General Manager of Digi Managed Solutions. Puopolo joins Digi after 13 years at Cradlepoint, having served most recently as its Senior Vice President of Sales, Global Service Providers.

Ron Konezny, President and CEO of Digi International, provided a comment regarding Puopolo’s arrival at Digi.

“As Digi evolves and adapts to the ever-changing needs of our customers and the IoT market, Tony's leadership and strategic vision will be instrumental in our transformation to a solutions-oriented company. His deep industry knowledge and proven ability to drive business outcomes make him the ideal candidate to lead our Managed Solutions division, and we are delighted to have him on board.”

Of course, Puopolo shared enthusiasm of his own:

“I am honored to join the Digi team at such an exciting time in the company's journey. Digi's commitment to innovation, customer focus, and eliminating the hurdles to success in IoT deployments aligns perfectly with my own values. I am eager to leverage our collective expertise to deliver best-in-class solutions that address the evolving needs of our resellers and customers.”

With Puopolo at the Digi Managed Solutions helm, Digi leadership believes the company is well-positioned to accelerate its growth strategies as a comprehensive solutions partner, offering valuable end-to-end support across the landscape of IoT.
