Let’s talk about Shelly Group and smart devices in the IoT space.
Shelly Group is a provider of home and facility automation; from smart lighting products like switches, bulbs, dimmers and energy sensors to connected home security systems, heating and temperature readers, wall frames for electronics and much more, Shelly Group had much to offer even before the company announced its latest debut – one that’s been, quote, “meticulously engineered with advanced cloud-enabled firmware, allowing consumers to more conveniently use smart-enabled devices and enabling appliance developers to apply smart features into their existing appliance line without unduly modifying their current production processes.”
The name of it?
Shelly X.
Basically, Shelly Group is leveraging its platform – already well-trusted with support for more than 100 smart ecosystems – to roll out Shelly X.
With Shelly X’s brand new module system, managing smart device features and analytics becomes easier.
The steps are:
- Order Shelly X modules or dev kits.
- Join the Shelly X Portal and create your account.
- Configure, experiment and fine-tune modules, and get real-time IoT device performance reports. (No code required, either.)
For this article’s sake, the above steps are simplified; read here for the full details.
Dimitar Dimitrov, founder and CEO of Shelly Group, further described how “the creation of Shelly X is pushing the automation boundaries beyond the status quo. Shelly X allows appliance manufacturers and end-consumers to create smart devices, customized for their own needs, as well as to control the lighting, measure the power and electricity consumption, without additional coding.”
Furthermore, Shelly Group’s Wolfgang Kirsch also explained how “with Shelly X, we amplify the versatile nature of our IoT solutions. The new module system provides many business features with no additional expenses during the product’s lifetime. Our Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, CE and FCC certifications open the doors to any market, while our EU-based cloud operation secure the customers privacy.”
We’ll be following this topic as more Shelly X news develops.
