Here on IoT Evolution World (and over on GenAI Today), we’ve covered several stories with a shared theme: AIoT, or the Artificial Intelligence of Things.
Here’s a bite-sized refresher.
It’s all in the name, really; AIoT involves applications for artificial intelligence within IoT infrastructure. IoT technologies powered by AI are – in a perfect world – designed to fully eliminate risky human errors through responsible automation that delivers data-driven insights, enabling operators to make smarter (and to-the-minute) decisions. And while unfortunately none of us live or work in ultra-perfected environments, AIoT-centric operations can still significantly reduce safety risks and a.) drive measurably better levels of efficiency, and b.) lead to big-time cost-saving opportunities via decreased downtime and beefed-up productivity.
As with most things in life, it can be genuinely great for everyone involved when it’s done right.
That right there is the mission of Trio Mobil.
With a team of 250+ professionals (approximately 60 of whom specialize in R&D engineering), Trio Mobil dials in on workplace safety and industrial efficiency via AIoT-powered solutions that enable workers to make well-informed decisions that quash near-miss scenarios, maximize intralogistics and improve other on-the-factory-floor capabilities. With cutting-edge, AI-enhanced video analytics, high-precision RTLS, emergency alerts and more, Trio Mobil covers forklift fleet management, safety and collision avoidance, as well as crane and loading dock safety, machine zone safety assistance systems, asset tracking, cold chain management and lone worker safety, to name a handful.
And in recent Trio Mobil news, the company announced that it secured $26.5 million in growth financing; this was led by NewSpring Capital through its NewSpring Growth equity strategy. Existing investors 212 and TIBAS Ventures also lent their support.
Financial strides like these are important to spotlight, especially given distressing statistics from sources like the International Labour Organization (ILO). Take, for instance, an ILO report that indicated how almost “3 million people worldwide die from work-related accidents each year, and nearly 400 million suffer non-fatal work-related injuries.” A couple decades back, my wife’s father sadly became part of that first number from the ILO; he was fatally injured at his work site in an machinery-related event that was substantially preventable.
This is why teams like those at Trio Mobil do the work they do.
“This new funding marks a pivotal moment for Trio Mobil. It highlights the transformative potential of our AI and IoT solutions in enhancing workplace safety and operational efficiency,” explained Nevzat Atakli, co-founder and CEO of Trio Mobil. “With this investment, we are excited to advance our innovations and better support our global customers in all their operations worldwide. Our mission is to ensure that every worker returns home safely, and this funding brings us significantly closer to achieving that vision on a wider scale."
NewSpring’s Hart Callahan also commented, describing how “Trio Mobil's groundbreaking AI and IoT technologies provide a comprehensive safety network that ensures unmatched protection across various industries. We are excited to partner with this team as they expand their global impact and revolutionize workplace safety and efficiency."
