Iveda Files New Patent for Customizable IoT Sensor, Ready to Enhance Liquid Storage Management Capabilities

By

Quick fact, readers: Did y’all know that the intermediate bulk container (IBC) and metal drum market size is currently projected to grow to upwards of $24.1 billion by 2030?

If you already knew this, big props. Chances are a.) you check global projections for both mainstream and niche markets daily, b.) you’re already involved in business pertaining to IBCs/the tanks and containers market as a whole, or c.) both, in which case you’re way ahead of what I’m reporting on here.

In any case, here’s another pertinent fact: Guaranteeing safe storage and transportation of bulk containers and metal drums was included as “one of the top growth opportunities for the industry,” according to Trending Market Insights.

Now, if you find yourself asking “Alex, what on Earth does this have to do with IoT?,” I’ll explain. See, with the ability to leverage IoT sensors (when it comes to robust container management, i.e. transportation, logistics, supply chain, etc.) that can measure liquid levels externally on containers of near-countless sizes and shapes, we get closer to full-on eliminating the need for expensive internal replacement sensors. This opens up new opportunities for remotely monitoring assets in real time, which is part of the bread and butter of today’s IoT.

Enter Iveda.

Since 2005, Iveda has been developing digital transformation-centric technologies, providing its solutions to smart city teams and other organizations around the world. Smart sensors, cloud-based AI video platform capabilities, you name it; Iveda delivers for teams in transport, building and campus security, connected urban environments, asset tracking and more.

Well, just earlier this morning, Iveda dropped a brand-new announcement:

Iveda announced a new patent that is pending for LevelNOW, its next-gen tracking and monitoring solution for efficient liquid storage management.

There exist industries where billions of dollars are being invested annually in liquid storage infrastructure; this is where LevelNOW already excels, helping teams address critical issues like leaks, evaporation, or even theft during storage and/or transit. Overall, LevelNOW provides to-the-minute alerts that can reduce costly losses, ensure environmental compliance, and enhance efficiency.

And so, as of today’s update, Iveda’s new patent covers LevelNOW’s pending customizable IoT sensors; with these being able to work with existing equipment to communicate container data to the LevelNOW platform (again, patent pending), Iveda is directly addressing the aforementioned demand for smarter external container monitoring. This would allow the system itself to take data-informed actions on behalf of human workers, a.) without having to fiddle internally with sensors, and b.) while increasing operational accuracy and profitability along the way.

David Ly, CEO and founder of Iveda, describes it better than I can.

“This innovation comes from being in the field with our customers and truly listening to their needs,” Ly explained. “When Iveda develops a new solution for a customer pain point, we always prioritize working with their pre-existing equipment over reinventing the wheel, hence the importance of IoT sensors. Not only would these provide major cost savings, but they would also save time so users don’t need to learn to operate new gear. By enhancing our LevelNOW solution through this new patent, Iveda is underscoring its commitment to industry-specific innovation that simplifies everyday workflows.”
