Next Stop, Finland: Netmore Group Continues to Expand, Selected by Digita to Scale LoRaWAN Connectivity

By

Here on IoT Evolution World — on our Smart City Sentinel news site, too — the name Netmore Group has appeared quite a bit in the back half of 2024.

Let’s briefly recap; i.e. what companies have opted to work with Netmore Group, and why:

  • Yorkshire Water selected Netmore Group to exchange end-of-operational-life-status meters with 1.3 million new smart water meters in England’s Yorkshire region.
  • IoTech chose Netmore Group to deliver LoRaWAN connectivity to customers across Greece (via Netmore’s Operator Platform-as-a-Service, or PaaS).
  • Cellnex UK chose Netmore Group for new LoRaWAN gateway implementations on the former’s streetworks monopole infrastructure, amounting to a whopping 200 new installations.
  • Everynet joined Netmore Group as part of a recent acquisition; this move represented a strategic alignment of resources and technical expertise that provides global customers with expanded network coverage.

These decisions have made good sense. Netmore Group, after all, is a dedicated IoT operator and all-around effective LoRaWAN solutions provider that believes how, quote, “there has never been in a greater need of sustainable technology than it is today.” Netmore Group has actively been implementing its resource-efficient, future-proofed solutions across Europe to build what they hope becomes “the fastest-growing Pan-European LoRaWAN network” out there. Their teams stress the importance of making the digitally powered protection of vital environmental resources a true economic imperative, which explains why the company is continually being picked to lead the charge. From logistics applications and energy monitoring to utilities and property management, the acceleration of innovation and resource conservation in tandem is the Netmore Group special, in a manner of speaking.

This altogether brings us to news that hit our inboxes earlier this very afternoon:

Netmore Group has once again been selected — this time, by Finnish technology company Digita, which also specializes in broadcasting, telecom and IoT-related services.

The plan is simple: Netmore Group’s aforementioned PaaS will help Digita optimize and scale its LoRaWAN network capabilities for the streamlined delivery of IoT-based applications in Finland. Digita already offers a complete infrastructure for IoT services (including a nationwide public LoRaWAN network and private network build outs based on customers’ needs), and now Digita’s selection of Netmore’s PaaS will reportedly reduce the number of systems needed to deliver IoT connectivity to its customers. This will benefit deployments across utility, district heating and logistics verticals, as well as for other smart building-centric projects. (And it promotes both economic growth and measures in environmental sustainability, to boot.)

“Designed for massive IoT and for provisioning and managing millions of devices, Netmore PaaS provides the advanced features and future-proof connectivity we need to scale our IoT business,” explained Digita’s IoT VP, Tuomas Kolkka. “Our companies have a shared vision of what is needed to support digital transformation across industries and an alignment on customer-centric business practices that will drive adoption faster.”

“The growing demand for reliable and scalable IoT solutions in support of resource conservation and sustainability initiatives is driving the adoption of Netmore PaaS across the globe,” added Andreas Stenhager, Chief Commercial Officer at Netmore Group. “Digita’s strong market presence in Finland will enable new innovations in the delivery of digital services and we are excited to have them join our growing Operator PaaS ecosystem. Together, we are setting a new standard for IoT deployments and digital transformation, not just in Finland, but across the broader European and global markets.”
