Beyond Roaming: floLIVE's Local Connectivity Solves IoT Data Challenges Worldwide

By

The IoT Business Impact Award recognizes floLIVE’s implementation in the U.S. for the purpose of cattle tagging. Stealing cattle has been around for ages but, in Texas, cattle rustling has evolved into a sophisticated multimillion-dollar crime, with cases involving fraudulent loans and embezzlement. However, the problem really is an international one.

The Business Impact award highlights floLIVE’s services to 701x, which serves over 9,000 ranches in the lower 48 states and is expected to expand services to other countries later this year. FloLIVE’s flexibility lends itself well to dealing with the wide open farms where cattle graze, and to new devices and services associated with a specific companies, like 701x, as they expand their footprints.

In floLIVE’s, case the acknowledgement is not only about the core network, but the points of presence in over 20 countries. With this network FloLIVE enables MNOs, MVNOs, and satellite operators to use floLIVE’s core network to become associated with a local presence, so they adhere to all data sovereignty requirements and ensuring all data handling is compliant with government and industry mandates.

The floLIVE network is differentiated by some core elements. The first is the floNET cloud platform, which leverages an extensive IMSI library and a globally distributed network of local packet gateways, enabling devices to connect locally without the need for roaming. This approach ensures low latency, high performance, and adherence to data sovereignty regulations like GDPR. The platform supports various cellular technologies, including 2G, 3G, LTE, NB-IoT, LTE-M, and is ready for 5G networks.

The second element is the SIM management and the integration or multi-IMSI and eUICC integration. Here, FloLIVE incorporates Multi-IMSI capabilities, allowing a single SIM card to host multiple IMSIs. This facilitates automatic network switching based on predefined rules or real-time conditions, enhancing coverage and reducing reliance on permanent roaming agreements. Additionally, floLIVE supports eUICC standards, enabling remote SIM provisioning (RSP) and over-the-air (OTA) updates, which are essential for managing large-scale IoT deployments efficiently.

The next component is floCONTROL, a holistic connectivity management platform that provides end-to-end visibility and control over IoT operations. It includes modules for SIM management, network monitoring, billing, and analytics, all accessible through a single pane of glass. The platform’s modular design allows for integration with existing systems via REST APIs, offering flexibility in deployment and operation.

There are additional elements that apply under certain conditions, but the above elements make floLIVEs core network.

701x determined that floLIVE’s network connectivity solutions offer a robust framework for managing global IoT deployments. Its combination of national coverage and opportunity to utilize its global reach, local compliance, advanced security, and operational flexibility positioned floLIVE as a compelling choice for organizations aiming to optimize their IoT strategies, whether you are an enterprise or network operator.
