Jasper Wireless and América Móvil have formed a partnership agreement that will offer Jasper Wireless’ machine-to-machine (M2M) platform across América Móvil’s properties in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean.
América Móvil is a provider of wireless services in Latin America. The company said that it’s partnering with Jasper Wireless to simplify the deployment of M2M applications and services for multi-national companies throughout Latin America.
Jasper Wireless provides América Móvil with a single platform. It automates operations for M2M businesses deploying on the network. With the help of the platform, mobile operators can profitably connect and manage enterprise applications such as transport and logistics, e-health care and tracking, said Jasper Wireless officials.
According to industry reports, the introduction of M2M communications across Latin America is growing at an exponential rate as more and more types of devices and enterprise applications become connected.
“We are seeing an increasing demand from customers requiring M2M solutions to help simplify complex deployments and meet market opportunities more quickly,” said Jahangir Mohammed, CEO at Jasper Wireless, adding that the company is partnering with América Móvil to accelerate market entry for M2M devices throughout Latin America.
Mohammed said that Jasper Wireless has developed a single, complete platform that enables device manufacturers and service providers to build and grow a connected device business.
Thanks to Jasper Wireless’ support, América Móvil can provide a seamless M2M platform. Company officials said that the platform can be used by all companies deploying M2M communications over its network to enhance processing capabilities and increasing profitability.
América Móvil’s service is scheduled to be commercially available from early 1Q 2011.
Jasper Wireless enables mobile network operators around the world with platform, applications, and design services to serve the emerging M2M and embedded devices markets.
In September, the company introduced Jasper Link, a software-based network adapter that is responsible for simplifying the process of building and managing connected devices.
