Wind River Gets Level 3 Rating From CMMI

By Oliver VanDervoort August 06, 2015

When it comes to developing solutions for machine-to-machine technology and the Internet of Things, a company known as Wind River has been one that other firms could lean on for decades. The firm is already known as the global leader in delivering software for the IoT and now it has announced that it was recently named a Level 3 company when it comes to the CMMI Institutes Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI). The firm has gained this designation thanks to its Automotive Solutions & Professional Services.

“Our CMMI Level 3 appraisal further reinforces Wind River’s commitment to delivering world class services and support; and demonstrates that our teams are implementing proven processes and industry expertise to help customers meet evolving market demands and mitigate themselves against development risks,” said Amit Ronen, SVP, professional services, Wind River, in a recent statement.

Wind River reaching Level 3 means that the company has actually underlined a level of experience and expertise it first hit way back in 2006. Since that time, the IoT market has certainly changed quite a bit. The change has been especially big when it comes to the automotive and aerospace industries. Despite the fact that there have been big changes in these departments, the company has managed to continue to be one of the world’s top performers. By reaching the Level 3 marker set out by CMMI, Wind River can help any number of companies get safe and secure systems to market that are able to deliver across as massive number of different sectors.

The more popular M2M technology gets, the more companies are looking to take advantage in new and innovative ways. Wind River has been offering a stout embedded software portfolio for years. The company currently boasts the ability to offer solutions that stretch across the planning, development and management stages. This is the biggest reason why the firm has managed to hang onto its Level 3 rating from the CMMI.
