What's Ahead in the New Year for IoT? Throw Your Hat Into the Ring at IoT Evolution Expo 2025

By Alex Passett January 20, 2025

Earlier this month, Matt Hatton — Founding Partner at Transforma Insights, and a well-respected commentator and thought-leader with more than 20 years of experience — penned what we believe was a great piece of content about the Internet of Things. (Full post here.) In it, Hatton wrote about how the tech industry is very much “oiling the wheels of IoT.”

“IoT is now at a stage where it’s not [solely] about big technology announcements at one end, or evangelizing the benefits of remote monitoring at the other,” per Hatton. “It’s about finding the points of friction inside and addressing them.” Hatton then shared his thoughts about developer-friendly IoT environments, the importance of connectivity and pertinent challenges still being faced, and how AI has been wholly infused into myriad IoT-centric topics.

But still, even if IoT is no longer the quintessential poster-child for new technology (i.e. AI having taken that spot, in many experts’ eyes), IoT business continues booming. (To boot, the increasing overlap of AI and IoT may lead us towards further technological advancements; read here for thoughts on that from IoT Evolution World’s Carl Ford.)

So, what else may await us this year, IoT-wise?

To learn more, we highly recommend registering for IoT Evolution Expo 2025. This, part of the larger #TECHSUPERSHOW experience, will be taking place from February 11-13 at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

At next month’s expo, Matt Hatton himself will be talking about what’s yet to come for IoT in a must-attend session that’s simply titled “What’s Ahead in 2025.” Hatton will discuss valuable IoT trends, the proliferation of AI and how IoT will continually be impacted and much, much more.
