IoT Evolution Expo Faculty Speaks: Roberto Dolci of aizoOn on IIoT Farming

By Ken Briodagh December 28, 2017

The IoT Evolution Expo is coming up fast, and we interviewed our speaking faculty to get a bit of a preview of what to expect from the conference.

Here, we spoke to Roberto Dolci, President and CEO of aizoOn USA, who will be a featured speaker in the following session during the week of education:

Planning Field Deployments

Read on for his thoughts:

IoT Evolution: What will be some key points you plan to hit in your session?
Dolci: Precision Farming benefits from an Industry40 approach to building a digital twin of the process to increase productivity and predictability. Monitoring of pathogens and other important variables for precision farming is not always possible with multi-variate correlation analysis of physical analysis, and a review of some of the “things” that need be measured, like Aflatoxins, OTA.

IoTE: What new insights can attendees expect to take home from your sessions?
RD: Importance of automated solutions for precision farming in terms of productivity and quality

IoTE: Can you identify a few important trends influencing your sector of the IoT which will shape the path of the industry? Why these?
RD: Use of AI to virtualize sensors. More and more sophisticated artificial intelligence algorithms allow companies to avoid implementation of expensive physical sensors.

IoTE: What are the biggest challenges facing the IoT? What are some important tools needed to overcome them?
RD: Democratization of data is one, really left in agriculture and food, where large corporations have an interesting in owning and controlling most data flows.

IoTE: Which vertical markets have the most to gain from IoT implementation? Which are leading and which are still behind the adoption curve?
RD: Those where compliance and technological sophistication are less of a problem, because implementations are much easier and there is no issue with sunk investments in prior technology.

IoTE: What session(s) (other than yours) are you most looking forward to attending at the Expo? Why?
RD: Artificial Intelligence applications
