The IIoT Needs IT and OT in Alignment to Ensure Success

By Ken Briodagh November 02, 2020

IIoT Projects often get stalled, delayed or even fail to launch based upon one simple mishap in communication: the inability to align the Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) departments that need to work together to drive IoT projects. To address this issue and present a number of solutions and strategies, IoT Evolution and Sierra Wireless will host a webinar on Wednesday, Nov 4, 2020 at 10:00 AM EST. Click here to register now.

The speakers will outline what makes Industrial IoT (IIoT) projects particularly difficult and how the lack of interoperability between OT and IT, given their disparate functions, can spell disaster. The two worlds have historically existed in siloes – OT is about the monitoring, control of industrial assets and the acquisition of sensor data, while the IT function is steeped in enterprise systems and cloud applications. With both these worlds using entirely different sets of technologies and tools, it has become critical to bridge the gap between them to ensure a successful IIoT transformation.

Join this webinar to:

  • Find out how all-in-one edge-to-cloud IIoT solutions have made it significantly easier to connect industrial assets to the cloud and bring powerful compute, analytics and application execution capabilities to where OT systems operate
  • Learn how industrial companies can build and scale their IIoT applications at a fraction of the cost and time.
  • Find out how Sierra Wireless Octave™ and Microsoft Azure IoT Central are bridging the gap between OT and IT, and empowering companies to unlock the benefits of the Industrial IoT.
