IoT Evolution Expo 2025 Silver Sponsor DGS is Exploring AI to Leverage Internet of Things Innovation

By

Last week, Grace L. Williams of Yahoo Finance described China’s launch of its cost-effective, seemingly-built-in-a-flash DeepSeek AI as, quote, “a plot twist the AI world didn’t see coming.” Williams then went on to quote Snowflake CEO Sridhar Ramaswamy, who stated “What DeepSeek has done over the past few weeks shatters previous beliefs by saying they can train a world-class model for $6 million. This is a big change forward.”

On that note, we also have valuable input from IoT Evolution Expo 2025 Silver sponsor Digital Global Systems (DGS). Fernando Murias, CEO of DGS, described how “This was touted as a unique and innovative approach that shifted the balance of AI power from the U.S. to China.”

In that vein, leaders like Murias are re-examining their own portfolios and are actively looking at how the power of AI can shift back to the U.S.

“To date, 137 of DGS’s 292 issued U.S. patents utilize inference reasoning and pattern recognition in this same way to provide solutions for wireless applications,” Murias explained. “So, we are currently exploring ways to leverage our technology with hyperscalers and computational providers as it relates to wireless communications.”

For context, DGS applies advanced AI/ML techniques to critical areas such as radio frequency (RF) signal detection, classification, geolocation and spectrum optimization to enhance AI processing at the edge. These techniques are central to enabling efficient and reliable management of the increasingly complex and congested RF spectrum, and it solves immediate challenges in the space. (Thereby paving the way for even more dynamic, AI-forward solutions for IoT.)

And so, below are additional need-to-know differentiators when it comes to the DGS team’s approach to AI and IoT today:

  • Patent Leadership and Innovation: DGS has invested heavily in developing a robust patent portfolio that positions them as a leader in spectrum management. This intellectual property underpins its unique AI applications and protects DGS’s competitive edge. As mentioned above, the company holds 292 patents, with 137 utilizing inference models and pattern recognition to reduce the training set required for AI applications. This technology enables AI to operate effectively at the edge with reduced data sets, reduced computational needs, and reduced power consumption, overall.
  • AI for RF Signal Intelligence: Unlike DeepSeek, which focuses on generative AI for natural language processing (NLP) and user-facing applications, DGS’s AI is purpose-built for detecting and analyzing RF signals. The company’s algorithms accurately identify, classify, and geolocate signals, providing actionable insights for users managing wireless networks and spectrum assets. (This also, of course, benefits IoT; connectivity is the lifeblood of the Internet of Things, after all.)
  • Data Fusion for Real-World Challenges: DGS’s platform integrates data from multiple sensors and sources, using AI/ML to create a comprehensive picture of the RF environment without requiring a large training data set, and the associated computational and power consumption requirements. This capability is, quote, “essential for addressing the growing complexity of connected devices and applications.” These underlying data management methodologies can also be applied to areas outside wireless communications. This includes (but certainly isn’t limited to) robotics, advanced manufacturing, automated transportation, satellite fixed and mobile communications, and virtual reality (VR).
  • Privacy and Security: Unlike up-in-the-air concerns about DeepSeek’s data practices, DGS adheres to rigorous data privacy and security standards. DGS’s solutions are designed to operate in secure environments, ensuring that sensitive data is protected and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Dynamic Spectrum Optimization: By enabling dynamic spectrum sharing and optimizing the allocation of spectrum resources in real time, DGS ensures that spectrum utilization is maximized while minimizing interference, which is critical for the telecommunications, defense, and public safety industries.

And for even more information, consider registering for IoT Evolution Expo 2025 to speak with Silver sponsor DGS in person! Taking place from February 11-13 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, IoT Evolution Expo is part of the overall #TECHSUPERSHOW experience that combines in-depth conference programming with networking activities, a robust exhibit hall and more. Attendees will find DGS in the hall at booth #1967. Additionally, DGS Senior Vice President of Marketing Pat Rudolph will be leading a great session on Wednesday, February 12 from 1:30-2:00 PM.
