Syniverse Technologies, a provider of technology and business services for the telecommunications industry, announced that the company has added more than 65 new customers to its roster in 2010.
Key drivers of this demand are the growing number of global mobile subscribers and the rollouts of a wide array of smartphones and connected devices like the iPad and Kindle, according to Syniverse officials.
The company has gained customers including machine-to-machine or “M2M,” cable, MSO, Internet, Voice over Internet Protocol or “VoIP,” and application service provider companies, according to company officials.
Syniverse offer technology expertise and a full range of network, messaging and roaming solutions to support the full range of players in the mobile ecosystem.
According to Syniverse president and CEO Tony Holcombe, the demand for mobile is undeniable, and Syniverse's momentum will grow as companies from almost every industry seek their niches in the mobile value chain.
"New and growing mobile players are quickly realizing they need capabilities like reach, interoperability, and a robust network to support their role in the mobile ecosystem," Holcombe said. "This is where Syniverse comes in, thanks to our more than 20 years of success making mobile work for large and small mobile operators worldwide."
Numerex, an M2M company, recently signed multi-year agreements for Syniverse solutions that expand the reach of its network and application service platforms to more than 200 countries around the world.
The company leverages a broad range of services from Syniverse, such as Syniverse PRIME IPX Solution, Sponsored Roaming for GSM, SS7 Signaling Transport - INLink and Mobile Enterprise Services.
Syniverse’s solutions enable Numerex to offer a complete global M2M platform to companies in a variety of vertical markets, allowing its customers to track and monitor goods and services all over the world via a single interface, the company said.
Stratton Nicolaides, chairman and CEO, Numerex, said he found Syniverse's strategy closely aligned with Numerex's.
"Because of Syniverse's extensive mobile expertise and global capabilities, we've been able to further expand our international application and network service offerings rapidly and efficiently," Nicolaides said. "Syniverse's focus on service integrity effectively complements our own company's emphasis on information security."
Earlier this year Syniverse announced the Syniverse Next-Generation IP Service as part of its Syniverse PRIME portfolio of network solutions, IoTevolutionworld reported. The service enables operators to improve operational efficiency, cost savings, high quality of service and flexibility to adapt to future technologies.
