The Internet of Things, in which objects of all kinds communicate with each other, generates a huge amount of data each and every day. And with the IoT expected to expand at a rapid pace in the upcoming years, there will be more devices linked together and greater amounts of information being exchanged between them all. This will not only be a boon for businesses, but it will also reshape the way they stay informed and structure their strategies.
LogMeIn, which provides secure connections to the computers, devices, data, and people that make up the digital world, will be competing this week with its Xively IoT Platform in M2M Evolution Conference & Expo’s Battle of Platforms on August 12. LogMeIn’s participation in the event will give attendees a chance to see a first-hand demonstration to learn how the provider helps companies conceptualize and build connected products and solutions quickly, with the power to transform businesses. Xively is also the winner of two consecutive Battle of the Platforms competitions.
Chad Jones, vice president of IoT strategy for LogMeIn, will present as a featured speaker at the expo, taking place August 11-14, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nev. During his panels, Jones will shed light on the ways in which IoT-generated data is reshaping businesses now, and how it might in the future as well. In his first panel at 11:30 a.m. on August 12, titled "Integrating Real-Time Machine Data in Your Business Process," Jones will be joined by Cisco and ThingWorx executives to discuss how to effectively take advantage of the IoT ecosystem and the data it generates to improve business operations overall.
In his second panel later that same day at 1:15p.m., titled "The Importance of Looking at Your Business Process in Deploying M2M – Data Relevancy,” Jones will speak alongside thought leaders from Logic PD, Axeda and WoT.io to break down how IoT-generated data can improve business decisions that in turn improve efficiencies, strengthen customer relations and create new revenue streams.
Everyone in business these days is looking to get an edge on the competition. Learning to better understand and seize the opportunities presented by an emerging technology like the IoT will take businesses farther.
