Trident IoT Completes $10M Fundraising Round, Welcomes Vivint's Todd Pedersen to its Board of Directors

By

Let’s talk about Trident IoT.

Trident IoT is a technology and engineering company that places great focus on simplifying RF development, as well as increasing product success rates and decreasing time-to-market for connected device manufacturers. Guided by both industry-engrained business philosophies and high-priority human connections in today’s scale-to-the-sky tech-driven world, Trident IoT’s hands-on client collaboration and IoT customer support are made possible by the team of IoT veterans with more than a collective century of knowledge related to semiconductors, cost-efficient smart home devices, future-proofing strategies via easily upgradeable components, firmware and software expertise and much more.

In April, Trident IoT made a substantial two-part announcement that we’d like to share with you:

  1. Trident IoT completed a very successful $10 million fundraising round led by Todd Pedersen, entrepreneur and founder of Vivint and Vivint Solar. At the time of this article’s publication, the company plans to invest the newly raised funds, quote, “toward the development of its AI division, creating purpose-built AI tools to accelerate IoT product design.” Additionally, these resources will allow Trident IoT to further build its engineering resources and speed the development of design tools, including pre-FCC-certified System-in-Packages (SIP)s, SDKs and reference designs.
  1. Pedersen – instrumental in helping make the aforementioned a reality – will also officially join the Trident IoT Board of Directors.

“Trident IoT has a commitment to innovation, combined with immense expertise in wireless and RF technologies, that creates a unique capacity to fast-track IoT development,” Petersen shared. “This investment is a testament to the shared belief that Trident IoT can transform the landscape of connected device technology, and I look forward to collaborating with the Trident IoT team to bring the next generation of IoT device solutions to market."

Mike Lamb, Trident IoT’s co-founder and CEO, also commented. He said, “Traditional engineering paths cannot match the pace of either technological innovation or customer demands. Our vision is to reduce new IoT product design timelines from 18-24 months to 4-6 months. With the resources gained in this funding round, as well as Todd's unmatched perspective on the needs of both end users and device manufacturers, we will be able to extend design acceleration services to more customers and technologies."
