Racing Towards Innovation: Trend Micro Named an Official Partner of the NEOM McLaren Formula E Team

By Alex Passett July 27, 2023

Global cybersecurity company Trend Micro helps solve modern challenges, making the world a safer place for exchanging digital information. With 7,000+ experts reinforcing its fierce executive team, Trend Micro’s decades of security expertise has paved the way for its platform to protect more than 500,000 organizations across cloud, networks, devices and endpoints., delivering the visibility needed for better and faster detection and response threat-defense capabilities. Trend Micro’s XDR has been proven to boost response times by 70%, nearly doubling teams’ likelihoods of proactively detecting an attack.

The long story short? High-speed SecOps. That’s what Trend Micro offers.

So, it’d make sense for a company like Trend Micro to be named an Official Partner of the NEOM McLaren Formula E Team, one that competes in the high-speed (and high-stakes) electric single-seater Formula E World Championship for the 2023 season.

This high-octane multi-year partnership aligns both brands’ similarly innovation-centric cultures, as well as their focuses on speed; speed along with, in this case, a committed acceleration towards dynamic environments worldwide.

Cybersecurity and Formula E are uniting because, per to Ian James, Managing Director, NEOM McLaren Electric Racing Team:

“The race circuits are some of the most sophisticated environments in global sports, yet they too are susceptible to business risks exposed by cyberthreats. Data visibility across the ecosystem and the ability to rapidly understand and use it becomes critical in any setting, especially in those with time-sensitive and rigorous operations like racing.”

James also added, “That’s why I’m excited to welcome Trend Micro to our team. As we travel around the world, we always explore ways to collaborate with others on keeping our operations safe. We are two brands with great synergy and security on the top of our minds, and I’m looking forward to what our partnership has in store.”

This Trend Micro-Formula E collab also bodes well for future partner opportunities, and it brings awareness to securing electronic vehicles; vulnerability detection, for example. So when this partnership is made even more known at this year’s London E-Prix and Trend Micro’s logo appears on the rear wing and halo of both NEOM McLaren Formula E cars, there’s more on the line than who claims victory during each race.

“Innovation and speed are at the core of this agreement,” said Dhanya Thakkar, SVP of Global Marketing and Sales at Trend Micro. “This is a perfect match, as our teams share common philosophies and long-term plans to accelerate industry innovations.”
