Saint Luke's Health System Launches App, Enables Easier Access to Healthcare

By

According to a recent release, Saint Luke’s Health System in Missouri has launched a new mobile app, mySaintLukes, powered by VenueNext, designed to improve patient, visitor and employee experiences across all of its locations. VenueNext, known for its work with professional sports teams including the SF 49ers, Orlando Magic and Minnesota Vikings, has brought its award-winning technology to the healthcare market for the first time.

“By integrating our services and patient information into a single mobile app, we hope to make it easier for patients to access what they need quickly and conveniently,” said Debe Gash, CIO, Saint Luke’s Health System. “This technology platform offers features that people already use daily, and as we strive to provide an excellent patient experience, we want visitors and patients to find the same convenient information and availability when interfacing with their health care provider.”

VenueNext has been working to integrate the hospital’s multiple mobile apps into a new single application that makes it easier for patients, visitors and employees to manage their health information, physician and hospital visits, while providing an advanced navigation tool to help them get to their ten hospitals and campuses in the Kansas City area.

“VenueNext is redefining what people should expect when visiting any type of venue, whether it be a sports stadium, hospital or amusement park,” said John Paul, CEO and founder, VenueNext. “We are very excited to launch our platform with Saint Luke’s Health System, our first healthcare partner, to deliver a mobile-first experience that gives patients, visitors and employees more control over their healthcare and makes it more comfortable and convenient when visiting any of their locations.”

The new mySaintLukes mobile app connects patients, employees and visitors to the hospital services and information they need when visiting a Saint Luke’s location. This includes managing their health information through the Epic MyChart* patient portal, enabling telemedicine services with MDLIVE, providing centralized access to Saint Luke’s concierge services and billing, and allowing real-time online appointment booking via Zocdoc. Saint Luke’s also integrated BLE-powered Aruba Beacons and the Meridian Location Services Platform from Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, to send guests welcome messages and notifications of special services, and make it easy for them to navigate the hospitals with turn-by-turn directions. The application will soon expand to enable food, beverage and gift shop order ahead and delivery services to rooms.
