Enhancing Private Network Security for Efficient IoT: NEXCOM, CTOne and Vertex are Making it Happen

By

NEXCOM – a supplier of intelligent, high-speed networking and industrial computing solutions; IoT automation, video surveillance, healthcare infomatics, and other pathways for actioning strategic support that facilitates the needs of customers and partners spanning several regions.

CTOne – a global enabler of cybersecurity for communication technology, or “CT” (hence, CTOne); as a subsidiary of Trend Micro, CTOne leverages 30+ years of experience in CT and IT security with a strong focus on filling communications gaps with enterprise solutions that are both secure and cutting-edge, to boot.

Vertex – with end-to-end 5G private network equipment, deployment services, network planning, network application and installation assistance, and system maintenance resources; by combining its wireless mobile communication signal coverage expertise with IoT and 5G vertical integration and cloud management applications, Vertex becomes a cross-domain system integration service provider.

That’s the gist of these three.

But what other common denominators do they share?

Well, take news that broke just earlier this week: NEXCOM, CTOne and Vertex have officially joined forces for what they call “a groundbreaking PoC (Proof of Concept) targeted to advance 5G private network security within semiconductor manufacturing site framework.”

Designed to address specific IoT and cybersecurity challenges commonly encountered in OT networks/environments, a collaborative solution to improve protections and make possible more seamless integrations into existing network architectures (with minimal mid-deployment operational disruptions) is certainly what the IoT doctor ordered, one might say.

Why else, though? Essentially, look at it this way – in the semiconductor industry (i.e. pivotal for IoT) for instance, manufacturing sites are prime targets for cyberattacks due to “the sensitive nature of their intellectual property and the critical role they play in global supply chains,” according to a case study assembled primarily by NEXCOM and CTOne. Thus, fortifying private networks is key.

"Our TCA 5170 is a compact 1U server that offers different configurations and scalable performance, allowing our ecosystem partners to easily adapt and run their applications for deployments of all scales,” stated Jennifer Lan, Sales and Marketing Director, Network and Communication Solutions at NEXCOM. “Our collaboration with CTOne and Vertex underscores our commitment to providing top-tier security and operational efficiency for our clients.”

"This collaboration proves pivotal in delivering a comprehensive cybersecurity solution for semiconductor manufacturing sites," said Ming-Yang, Yi, Senior Manager of CTOne’s AMEA Business Development Group. "By integrating our advanced 5G visibility and security capabilities with NEXCOM's TCA 5170, we've created a robust solution that enhances data protection and optimizes operational efficiency of private 5G networks.”

“Working alongside NEXCOM and CTOne has allowed us to deliver a truly comprehensive cybersecurity solution for private 5G network,” added Willis Fu, Technical Director at Vertex. “Bringing together NEXCOM's TCA 5170 and CTOne's Mobile Network Security solution ensures seamless protection of the private 5G network, providing our end customer with peace of mind and confidence in their operations.”
