Kontron Americas and Microsoft to Expand Windows IoT Licensing for Stronger Customer Support

By

Heard of Kontron Americas, readers?

Kontron is all about “The Power of IoT” and cutting-edge capabilities therein. This multinational technologies provider covers general IoT and Industry 4.0 developments alike, spanning hardware and software that speeds up market entry for organizations, reduces their total cost of ownership, and impresses the value of smart integrations that prioritize longevity over short-term hype. Serving teams involved in industrial automation, smart railway solutions, and 4G/5G network deployments in telecom, avionics and transportation (to name a few), Kontron strives to grow its offerings in unison with the pace of intelligent we’re seeing around the world today.

And in recent Kontron-related news, the company recently announced that it has entered a strategic partnership with none other than Microsoft.

The goal?

Offer Windows IoT licensing to Kontron’s North American customers.

For those unaware, Windows IoT (known also as Windows for IoT) is a family of enterprise-class operating systems designed specifically for the Internet of Things. Using Windows’ embedded experience, ecosystem and cloud connectivity, this provides a scalable and well-managed means through which organizations create their own IoT devices that are “secure, quickly provisioned, and seamlessly connected to an overall cloud strategy,” as Microsoft puts it.

With this partnership in mind, Kontron Americas’ CEO Ted Christiansen expressed his enthusiasm.

“We are very excited to partner with Microsoft to bring Windows IoT licensing and expert support to our customers,” Christiansen said. “This collaboration further strengthens our commitment to delivering comprehensive and innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of the IoT market and allows us to compete at an even greater level.”
