TGIF, everybody.
Let’s check in, if for a moment, with Morse Micro.
We’ve featured IoT connectivity and interoperability solutions provider Morse Micro in several stories here on IoT Evolution World (and on our Smart City Sentinel news site) — this has included the company’s many partnership developments (e.g. with Synergy Associates, Silex Technology, Mouser Electronics, Milesight IoT and Quectel), its strategic branch opening in Taiwan (i.e. to strengthen ties with TSMC), and two incredible Wi-Fi HaLow demonstrations.
For more context on the latter, the first then-record-setting demo took place back in February in San Francisco’s Ocean Beach neighborhood; this showcased the ability of sub-GHz Wi-Fi HaLow signals to reach long distances in challenging real-world conditions (3 kilometers). Following that, in September the company broke its own record (16 kilometers) in Joshua Tree National Park. Click on any of the links above to read more about each story.
And just yesterday, the company made headlines once again:
Morse Micro officially announced the launch of multiple new open-source GitHub repositories, as well as a Community Forum.
In the words of Michael De Nil, CEO and co-founder of Morse Micro, here’s why this proves significant.
“At Morse Micro, we truly believe in the power of community effort,” De Nil explained. “That’s why, with over 100 million GitHub users and an ever-growing community on Discourse, we’re excited to create an environment where developers can connect, share ideas, and innovate together.”
As we speak, Morse Micro’s GitHub repositories now contain the requisite software and tools for bringing up Wi-Fi HaLow on Linux-based projects. And Discourse, mentioned by De Nil — a community-based, real-time discussion platform available on GitHub — can also serve as a reliable space to discuss broader connectivity topics, which Morse Micro hopes will continue to facilitate collaboration across the global Wi-Fi HaLow community.
“Our goal,” De Nil added, “is to make Wi-Fi HaLow technology more accessible, relevant, and adaptable to users' needs while supporting skill development and industry-wide collaboration.”

Explore even more connectivity-focused solutions at the upcoming IoT Evolution Expo 2025, which will be taking place from February 11-13, 2025 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Part of the #TECHSUPERSHOW experience, this event combines educational conference programming with a robust exhibit hall, networking events and other activities, bringing together buyers and providers of business technology products and services that are huge for IoT.
