It’s nearly Labor Day weekend, readers. Ever so close.
In the meantime, let’s talk about Dirac.
Dirac is all about giving folks the best-possible audio experiences; for our computers, headphones, connected vehicles, in smart home environments, you name it. Dirac’s digital audio solutions help whatever is being listened to sound more immersive and pristine, and this is made possible due to the company’s patented algorithms. Dirac’s M.O. is to continue redefining high-performance, premium audio; its algorithms make precise measurements in solving audio imperfections (e.g. correcting distortions and imbalances) to get increased clarity, bringing the best out of today’s systems.
As stated, be it audio for tablets and other mobile devices, for automotive, or for customized audio setups at home, Dirac is carving itself out as the digital audio pioneer.
And earlier today, the company made a big announcement:
Dirac has officially announced the appointment of Anders Storm as its new CEO, effective immediately. According to Dirac Chairman Johan Sedihn, Storm’s entrance as CEO “comes at a time when Dirac is experiencing record-breaking growth in home audio markets,” having grown its net sales by 59% from 2022 to 2023. Dirac’s home audio consumer sales also grew significantly during the same period, and are currently up 35% (as of the first half of 2024).
“We are very excited to have Anders join Dirac at this critical moment in the company’s 20-year history,” Sedihn added. “His deep experience in software, semiconductors, and hardware-software engineering, coupled with his C-level leadership record, aligns perfectly with the current and future direction of our company. He has what we need to leverage our current core competencies in new markets and identify the new technologies that will accelerate our growth in the future.”
When it comes to the intersection of such traditionally distinct industries (i.e. audio signal processing and semiconductor industry expertise), it seems like Storm is indeed “the ideal CEO,” per Sedihn, to chart future success for the company. (For additional context, Storm joins Dirac after serving as COO, and later CEO, of Sivers Semiconductors.)
“Since its founding in 2001, Dirac has advanced the frontiers of digital audio in every market and application where sound matters,” Storm himself stated. “As such, they have justly earned the reputation of being the world’s most innovative audio company. I am very excited to join this team of sound pioneers, and I look forward to applying my talents and experience. Dirac is in a unique position and has endless possibilities in all parts of the IoT ecosystem, which will help the company to grow faster in more categories and markets around the world.”
