IoT Evolution World Week in Review: Devicify, Atari, Pitney Bowes

By

Hello, friends. This is the IoT Evolution World Week in Review, and it’s a quick one this time, but don’t worry, there’s plenty more news, so make sure you keep clicking after you read these stories. We’ll get to the news in just a bit, but first a quick reminder about the IoT Evolution Expo in Las Vegas, July 11 to 14. If you want to get in on it as a sponsor or exhibitor, now’s the time, so hook up with Matt Gleeson, our Biz Dev maestro.

Our main feature this week was a three-part series by special guest and friend of the show Joyce Deuley, Senior Analyst and Director of Content at analyst firm James Brehm & Assoc. She interviewed Scott Johnson, CEO, Devicify, and in their talk, they outlined how IoT is enabling a huge variety of tools at the edge of the networks, and why that’s a very good thing. Read Part One, Part Two, and Part Three.

And now, the news:

Atari has partnered with SIGFOX, a provider of dedicated IoT connectivity, to develop a line of new connected devices. The goal is to bring together Atari’s brand and creative services and SIGFOX’s solution to cover a wide range of new Atari products. We don’t yet know if this means that we’ll finally get analytics on Dig Dug’s weird inflatable weapon thing, but it is exciting news, nonetheless.

This week on the IoT Time Podcast, I sit down at Pitney Bowes headquarters with Jason Dies, President, Document Messaging Technologies, and Grant Miller, ‎Global VP, Operations and Product Management, both of PB, to talk about how the IoT is bringing old-style industry into the IIoT. I also grabbed some time with Brian Roeten, Head of Strategy and International Development at CopSonic, to talk about ultrasonic connectivity, security and how sound might ideal for IoT communications.

There’s plenty more to read, listen to and watch, so visit us on IoT Evolution World for all the IoT news, my friends. Keep the IoT Evolution Expo in Las Vegas in your calendar. Also, please get in touch with us when you have stories. As always, if you have questions, comments, input or abuse, please send it to editorial director Ken Briodagh at [email protected] or on Twitter @KenBriodagh.
