Thermos Connects to IoT with Smart Lid Bottle

By

Hydration has a new hero. Not this guy. The Thermos Brand has introduced its Connected Hydration Bottle with Smart Lid in Canada (it’s been in the U.S. for a while, now), which is designed to help thirsty folks monitor water intake using a Thermos Smart Lid app. It also connects to Fitbit so users can track water intake and meet hydration goals during activity.

The free app is available in English and French on the Apple App Store and lets users set personalized daily water intake goals based on age, gender, height, weight and activity level. A sensor tube on the lid detects how much water is consumed throughout the day and syncs with the Thermos Smart Lid app through a Bluetooth connection to provide automatic tracking. The app will also remind users to drink more water when they are not on track to meet their goal. The bottle tracks each drink of water toward the overall progress on the user's daily, weekly and monthly hydration objectives.

“The Thermos Connected Hydration Bottle with Smart Lid has been a great success in the United States and we are excited to offer it to the Canadian market,” said Julie Ryan, SVP, sales and marketing, Thermos. “Now, Canadians can ensure hydration is part of their healthy, active, on-the-go lifestyle. We are proud to offer a connected device that easily syncs with leading wearable technology platform from Fitbit and allows people to effortlessly include hydration in their daily health monitoring.”

The Thermos Connected Hydration Bottle with Smart Lid has a rechargeable, lithium-ion battery that will hold a charge for up to 12 days. The product will retail starting at $89.99 and will be available for purchase at select retailers, including London Drugs, Amazon and Walmart.

Stay thirsty, my friends
