Everynet Avails LoRaWAN Connectivity Using AWS IoT Core for LoRaWAN

By

We’ve discussed AWS IoT Core in other IoT Evolution and Industrial IoT News coverage; i.e. the well-known managed cloud platform that allows connected devices to securely interact with other devices and cloud applications. It can also be used to connect and manage device fleets at scale (without extraneous provisioning or managing servers). Device connections remain secure with both mutual authentication and end-to-end encryption, and – notably, in terms of today’s news piece – users can choose whatever their preferred communication protocol may be, including MQTT, HTTPS, MQTT over WSS, and LoRaWAN.

That leads us to AWS IoT Core for LoRaWAN.

AWS IoT Core for LoRaWAN is a fully managed LoRaWAN Network Server (LNS) that enables customers to connect wireless devices that use the LoRaWAN protocol with the AWS Cloud. Using AWS IoT Core, private LoRaWAN networks can be set up; users can connect their LoRaWAN devices and gateways to the AWS Cloud – all without the need to develop, maintain, or manually operate their own LNS.

In this vein, we have Everynet playing an active role in enabling smart infrastructure on a global scale. Everynet currently operates LoRaWAN networks in 10 countries, as the company has affirmed, “We partner with the entire LoRaWAN ecosystem.”

So, it makes sense that Everynet is now offering connectivity access through AWS IoT Core for LoRaWAN.

Everynet access through AWS IoT Core for LoRaWAN is immediately available to AWS customers across Everynet’s national LoRaWAN network footprint. And while public preview participants have represented utilities, grocery chains, logistics companies and more, the integration between Everynet and AWS IoT Core for LoRaWAN also provides an opportunity for Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) to expand their reach, too.

Per Gabriel Nave, Vice President of Business Development at Everynet:

“We’ve been pleased with the broad range of industries and use cases that participated in public preview. It’s truly amazing how many different types of companies are finding tangible, real-world success using LoRaWAN technology. With network access now generally available through AWS, we’re confident even more companies will realize the benefits of LoRaWAN technology to streamline their operations, enhance predictive maintenance and improve daily living.”

And per Yasser Alsaied, Vice President of IoT at AWS:

“Everynet and AWS are working together to make it simple for LoRaWAN customers to connect their devices to Everynet’s public network. AWS IoT customers no longer need to deploy and manage private networks; this not only reduces engineering efforts, but also expedites the process to bring a complete LoRaWAN solution built on AWS IoT Core to production. We’re delighted to work with Everynet to simplify the development process for our customers.”
