Meet the Compact M2000 Cellular Bluetooth Gateway for IoT, Courtesy of Cassia Networks

By

G’day, readers.

This afternoon, let’s chat briefly about Cassia Networks.

Cassia Networks strives to be a true leader for enterprise IoT solutions. Its patented technology — much of which makes IoT more secure and easier to scale — provides, quote, “the most reliable and easy-to-manage long-range, multiple-device connectivity, edge processing and locationing for Bluetooth IoT networks.” Trusted by the likes of Google, Cisco, Roku and Meta (and led by serial entrepreneur and wireless technologies veteran Felix Zhao), Cassia Networks remains committed to building products that break new ground for next-gen IoT environments.

And just last week, the company made an announcement:

Cassia Networks launched its official M2000 Compact Cellular Bluetooth Gateway.

Designed with a compact size, Cassia’s M2000 has been described as an easy-to-install, all-around user-friendly device. It supports Bluetooth roaming and locationing (as well as 4G and Wi-Fi, as backhaul), it can be managed by Cassia’s IoT Access Controller, and it offers customers “true enterprise-grade security, flexibility, and scalability necessary to deploy IoT projects in the most cost-effective manner,” the company wrote.

In addition to the above, other M2000 features include the following:

  • Communication range of up to 150 meters with a Bluetooth 4.0 device (with open-space line of sight), extending further with a Bluetooth 5.0 device

  • Capacity for up to 10 simultaneous bi-directional connections with Bluetooth low-energy devices

  • Ability to scan hundreds of Bluetooth devices via support for Cassia's PureScan Mode, ensuring optimal scan performance in high-noise environments with numerous Bluetooth devices

"The M2000 gateway seamlessly integrates the advantages of Bluetooth connectivity with cellular backhaul, all in a compact and user-friendly design that is truly cost-effective,” as Zhao explained. “We're thrilled to introduce the M2000 to our customers, empowering them to achieve the scalability, flexibility, and cost efficiency required for their IoT projects to thrive in hospitals and digital health sectors, industrial IoT (IIoT), supply chain management, smart campuses and for both personnel and asset tracking needs.”
